Tool Comparisons

Side-by-side comparisons, including the axes on which PassReal is not the best option.

• PassReal vs ExifTool: which one do you need?
ExifTool removes metadata exactly and for free. PassReal also re-encodes pixels and writes a camera profile. A plain comparison of what each one changes.
• A Metadata2Go alternative for AI-generated images
Metadata2Go is a free web tool that views, edits and removes file metadata. Here is when it is enough and when an AI image needs more than tags removed.
• An EXIF remover alternative for AI-generated images
A basic EXIF remover deletes tags and nothing else. AI images carry C2PA, IPTC and XMP too, and a bare file looks odd. What to use instead, and when not to.
