# Tool Comparisons

Side-by-side comparisons, including the axes on which PassReal is not the best option.

- [PassReal vs ExifTool: which one do you need?](https://passreal.com/compare/passreal-vs-exiftool): ExifTool removes metadata exactly and for free. PassReal also re-encodes pixels and writes a camera profile. A plain comparison of what each one changes.
- [A Metadata2Go alternative for AI-generated images](https://passreal.com/compare/metadata2go-alternative): Metadata2Go is a free web tool that views, edits and removes file metadata. Here is when it is enough and when an AI image needs more than tags removed.
- [An EXIF remover alternative for AI-generated images](https://passreal.com/compare/exif-remover-alternative): A basic EXIF remover deletes tags and nothing else. AI images carry C2PA, IPTC and XMP too, and a bare file looks odd. What to use instead, and when not to.
